Silver Creek Leadership Academy Capstones
Silver Creek High School is known throughout the St. Vrain Valley School District for having an impressive, vigorous AP curriculum, the top library in the state, and now, the Silver Creek Leadership Academy is beginning to gain notoriety. The four-year program allows all freshmen to apply and over the course of high school, works on developing communication skills, respect, generating a vision for success, adhering to ethical principles, working in teams, and thinking critically and creatively in problem solving situations. These standards are fondly referred to as the Big 6. To remain in the program, students must maintain a high GPA as well as complete 25 hours of community service each year. In their final year, senior students must complete a year-long project of their own design which either benefits organizations in the community and/or exposes the student to a possible field of career through a local internship.
The Silver Creek Leadership Academy is both intensive and successful in preparing students to be confident leaders in the years beyond high school. The senior class of 2015 has proved that they are deserving of the praise the program receives time and time again through their inventive capstone projects.
